Our Story

Every idea comes from somewhere, and you are almost certainly asking yourself whence came Exodus. The story of this story begins nigh-on a decade ago, in a hazy college dorm room planted firmly on the outskirts of the UWT campus. Its occupants? Our very own V and Dr. Clement Pan, then just young undergrads probing the boundaries of chemically-transcendent consciousness. The evening’s chinwag mutated into the night’s bull session, and as the darkness grew long teeth the passage of time turned the topic speculative. Flying under the auspice of artificially-enhanced thought, our intrepid heroes began to consider the inevitable onslaught of the far future with equal weight given to both probability and metaphor. Slowly a concept began to form, and that concept was given breath, and that breath was given body. Sensing that they had managed to whisper something worthwhile into existence, Clement grabbed the nearest pen and paper (which happened to be a paper bag of indeterminate origin) and hastily dragged the ephemeral thoughts into the manifest world.

The notes taken that night – which somehow managed to survive the ensuing years – would go on to become the foundation of Exodus, both the company and the universe. This is an idea of fond origins that has been held close to our hearts for many years, and the team here at Exodus is beyond excited to enliven it, and to unleash the resultant beast onto an unsuspecting world. When the day comes, we sincerely hope that you’ll enjoy being consumed by this beast just as much as we have.

Clement Pan

Founder / CEO & General Tech Support (?!
In his freshman years, he came up with the foundation of what would become Exodus with Veronica (our lead writer), wrote down the notes and have been adapting and expanding it ever since for the last 11 years. During which, he’s been gathering work experiences in game development having worked in Tripwires Interactive and Mobius Games and several other projects as a freelancer to hone his understanding of the industry.  He’s super excited to finally be able to introduce everyone to the world of Exodus!  Oh yeah… he’s also the one that’s been writing everyone’s paychecks just to bring Exodus to life!

Beck

Artistic Director / Illustrator
He’s an artist that has freelanced in several different sectors of business and shares a common artistic aesthetic with Clement capable of bringing what he wants to life.  He’s the one that’s responsible for most of the artworks you see including UI elements and background designs, environmental settings, banner graphics, organization of our Instagram account…etc.  Basically, he’s overworked but he enjoys it so let’s not remind him of that!

Hsiao

Our Lead 2D Animation Animator. He’s the one that singlehandedly drawn every animation you have seen so far and is the key person that’s saving our budget from being burnt by 3D cinematics that costs hundreds of thousands per second cough I mean, he’s going to help bring the world of Exodus to life! He used to be an animator working in a Japanese animation studio, having worked on major releases including Sabikui Bisuko(錆喰いビスコ), and a few others he can’t name due to his NDA and some of them not having been announced yet. He joined our team to keep his liver fresh from the Japanese death marches.

Abhik Mitra

Lead Character 3D Artist
Our Lead Character 3D Artist. He’s a man of many skills, but most notably, and the only one we truly care about, is his 3D modeling skills. He’s worked on big projects like “Mortal Kombat 1”, “Ghost of Tsushima”, as well as smaller projects like “The Store is Closed, “War Dragons” and “Aries”. The models shown here really speak for themselves as he’s responsible for all the organic monstrosities being shown here, and for a company that wants all their assets built “in-house” he’s the right man for the job!

Sayon Pal

General Hard Surfacing and Environment 3D Arist
Our Hard Surfacing and Environment 3D Artist. When we were having a hard time keeping up our asset production pipeline, Abhik introduced us to Sayon, our very own hard-surfacing wizard! He really doesn’t require much intro as his work speaks for himself.  All the hard surfacing 3D robots you are seeing here in our project has been done by him!  Polygon count? We’ll let unreal engine 5 nanite deal with all that, time to let the extremely high polygon count models show!

V

Lead Writer/Lead Editor
Our Lead Writer and Lead Editor. She thinks that you should watch more horror movies, and has a background in political science, moral philosophy, and media analysis. She hates both Capitalism and Maoism at least as much as you do, and is excited to tell you all about it! She curates our written content, produces our lore drops, and writes our finalized scripts, plus a whole lot more besides – hell, she wrote this Kickstarter page! She’d even do your obituary, if only you had the decency to ask!
